Hastelloy C corrosion properties

Medium

Corrosion of oxidizing acids such as nitric acid, nitric acid and sulfuric acid, mixed acid, gallic acid and sulfuric acid, as well as corrosion of oxidizing salts or media containing other oxidants such as hypochlorite at higher temperatures than normal temperature

Good corrosion resistance to seawater, acetic acid, wet chlorine, can also be used in chlorine or chloride-containing media. But the corrosion resistance of Ni-Mo alloy in hydrochloric acid is not as good as that of Ni-Mo alloy

when used in the sensitized state, it is easy to produce intergranular corrosion in chlorinated medium and chloride-containing medium. Hastelloy C sensitized in the range℃704~1038 for less than 10 seconds produces intergranular corrosion.
